Salome Tirado

UNiDAYS Woman of the Year

Salome Tirado is a creator, storyteller, and the mind behind TONES, a show shaped by culture, curiosity, and the courage to stand out.

Growing up Nigerian-Spanish in Sussex, Salome learned early what it meant to be different. That resilience carried her into Computer Science, a male-dominated field where she quickly made her mark, from top academic awards to completing a four-year apprenticeship that led to roles at PwC and an AI startup.

Beyond tech, Salome built a creative voice of her own. Her work spans YouTube, social impact projects, charity collaborations, and even filming with PwC’s UK Chair. She appears in a worldwide computer science campaign, with her photos displayed in schools from Europe to Latin America. Whether teaching AI with Google DeepMind or running events that bring communities together, her mission remains the same: to represent, uplift, and inspire young people who rarely see themselves reflected in these spaces.

Her recognition as UNiDAYS Woman of the Year reflects that impact and the stories she continues to tell through TONES.
